The structure and types of vinyl tiles

What tools will you need?

To lay the flooring yourself, you will need:

  • tape measure or a sufficiently long ruler;
  • rectangle;
  • construction knife;
  • rubber hammer, also known as a mallet;
  • a spatula designed for working with polymer glue with an A2 tooth profile;
  • acrylic or dispersion glue or their equivalent.

Preparatory stages

  1. Preparing the base. Vinyl tiles are laid on a very flat, hard and dry base. No more than 5% of the consequences are allowed. In the shortest possible time, it is necessary to remove the remains of the old base, clean it from debris and other contaminants, and if defects are found, get rid of them, that is, putty the cracks and additionally level them with special ties. All that remains is to sand and clean the floor again.
  2. Installation pads If you are working with locking quartz vinyl, then it is aimed at special underlayments designed for use with vinyl flooring.

Laying vinyl flooring

The PVC tiles were installed from the center of the room. To do this, it is necessary to make markings in advance:

  • Find the center of the base,
  • Mark the points of inflammation from each wall
  • Take a painter's cord and connect the dots of the opposite walls
  • Draw a line with a pencil
  • Draw additional diagonal lines if you are laying tiles according to a pattern.

Steps to Install Locking Vinyl

The tiles are placed on the keys with the center marked on the map. 

Before laying the locking floor covering, it is recommended to prime the base. 

The tiles were glued end to end; if necessary, they needed to be tapped to ensure there were no gaps and no air could get in. 

The tiles begin to fold as the room turns, adjacent to the wall with the window. 

After gluing 1-2 square meters, be sure to roll the floor covering with a roller to remove excess air. 

Work preferably from left to right, and the panel of the first line should fit the wall with a groove. Make sure that the fit is not tight: there should be a technical gap of 0,39 inches between the wall of the covering and the wall.

After installation is complete, you must wait 24 hours.

To improve the locking adhesion, each tile is hammered with a rubber mallet and at the end of the installation, it is attached using a skirting board.
